Yuniel "El Guajiro" Jimenez: Latin Country Flavor Meets Urban Soul

From the Cuban countryside to the streets of New York City, Yuniel Jimenez is a life-long songwriter and master tres player. Born in a small Cuban village, Jimenez debuted his first décima at the age of four. He graduated from the National Art School of Cuba and played with Cuban singer Liuba Maria Hevia, honing his chops and songwriting skills. In 2004, he moved to Barcelona, performing with Javier Ruibal, Kiko Pi de la Serra, Javier Muguruza and Carlos Lage, broadening his sonic palette and introducing Iberian flavors into his songs. Now a New Yorker, Jimenez released his debut album in 2011 merging his experiences in Cuba, Spain and NYC on "Un Guajiro en Nueva York". Catch him live at Subrosa.
