Yndi Halda

yndi halda formed in South-East Kent, UK as teenagers, and released their debut record Enjoy Eternal Bliss in 2007 through Big Scary Monsters (UK & Europe), Burnt Toast Vinyl (USA) and XTAL Records (Japan). The record was described as “epic beauty” by Drowned in Sound and “electrifying” by The Line of Best Fit, amongst a great deal of praise from other high-profile publications, picking up generous support and accolades worldwide. The success of Enjoy Eternal Bliss lead the band to tours across the UK, Europe, USA and Asia, including shows at London’s famed Barbican Hall, Koko and Union Chapel venues, and entirely selling out a short residency at Hoxton Hall.

After a long writing and recording period, 2016 saw the long-awaited release of latest full-length Under Summer. The album - at once subtle and joyous, hitting huge emotional peaks around moments of serene gentleness and heartbreaking sadness - was favourably reviewed by Pitchfork, FACT, DIY and countless more. A musical development from the band’s debut LP, the new album was viewed as a progression in songwriting, delivery and expression. It exhibits new scope and wider interests, full of closely-crafted arrangement, multi-part vocal harmonies and new compositional focuses.

Since the release of Under Summer, the band have toured the UK, Europe and Asia, performing their largest headline shows and festival appearances to date. USA and Australia dates are scheduled to follow in 2018. In support of this latter touring period, yndi halda will shortly release a brand new EP titled A Sun-Coloured Shaker, a companion piece to Under Summer.
