About Yellowman & the Sagittarius Band

King Yellowman: Reggae Dancehall Legend & the Sagittarius Band

Jamaica's first dancehall superstar, King Yellowman ushered in a new era in reggae music following Bob Marley's death. His early-'80s success brought the popularity of toasting -- the reggae equivalent of rapping -- to a whole new level, and helped establish dancehall as the wave of the future with his famed album "Zungguzungguguzungguzeng". He overcame a childhood at Kingston's Maxfield Home orphanage and the prejudices associated with being an albino in Jamaica, not to mention jaw cancer, to become one of the country's most beloved musicians. He continues to record and tour around the world, including this stop with the Sagittarius Band at B.B. King Blues Club.
