Waiting on Mongo, Bushicks

Waiting On Mongo is a seven-piece funk/jam band from Asbury Park, NJ. This award-winning band features rowdy horns, a super tight rhythm section, and a master of the keyboards whom the band is named after. Presenting original music along with covers of all kinds, get ready for the Mongo Party!


Originally hailing from outside of Albany, NY, Jon Patrizio moved to the Bushwick neighborhood in the fall of 2013. He lived on his friend's couch for four months while looking for gainful employment and an apartment in order to pursue music in New York City. He found it hard to find a band in NYC however, so he decided to start a band of his own and began writing songs (which would later become the "Down the Line" EP). The term "Bushick" was born of an inside joke of his friends calling him a "hick" since he was from Upstate NY, now living in Bushwick. Fast forward to 2015 and the band was formed.

Led by "Jonny Bushick" (Jon Patrizio) on guitar and vocals, Bushicks is a Rock and Roll outfit featuring NYC music veteran, John Adamski (formerly of Shilpa Ray and Julius C) on drums and the very talented, Jessica Bogwicz, on the bass guitar. Bushicks played their first show on January 8th, 2016 at the now defunct Basement Bar in Bushwick. Since then, they have played such notable NYC venues as Brooklyn Bowl, American Beauty, The Bitter End, Arlene's Grocery, and Don Pedro's in addition to others. They have also shared the stage with such notable acts as: Electric Love Machine, The B.R.Y.A.C All-Stars (Ft. members of Kung Fu and Deep Banana Blackout), Space Bacon, Cousin Earth, and The Other Brothers.
