Brazilian-born vocalist Vanessa Falabella has a lot in common with the late, great Elis Regina, her country's most popular singer -- powerful pipes, an engaging stage presence and plenty of charm and charisma. Falabella made her name in New York at clubs across the city, and she even opened for Bob Dylan on his Brazilian tour. For this special brunch show at Cafe Wha?, she'll pay tribute to Regina by performing her '60s and '70s-era jazz, bossa nova and pop hits like "??guas de Mar??o," "Como nossos pais," "Upa Neguinho," "Madalena," "Casa no Campo" and more.
