About Ukulelien
Ukulelien is a Brooklyn-based progressive Ukulele band. With both an original repertoire and a vast array of covers, Ukulelien spans a wide range of musical styles bringing both a sense of playfulness and technical ability to the music many people know and love. From bluegrass to electronica, this band will take any song and uke-i-fy it.
In less than 2 years, Ukulelien has earned many achievements including 2 CMJ performances, 110,000+ YouTube views, 850+ YouTube subscribers, 1000+ Facebook likes, and positive reviews from Sensible Reason and OurVinyl. Other notable accolades for the band include a self-booked charity tour affiliated with the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life”, musical collaborations with the “Sci-Fi Middle Eastern Fusion” band Consider the Source, and public recognition by Andy McKee, whose original song “Drifting” was covered by Ukulelien. “Drifting” remains the most popular Ukulelien YouTube video with over 32,000 views, and it is continuously climbing. The band has released many videos and audio tracks in 2014, helping them gain fans, friends, and subscribers each and every day.
Ukulelien is comprised of 5 members, including Joey Calfa (Ukulele/Vocals), Terry Brennan (Vocals/Percussion/Sax), Corey J. Feldman (Ukulele Bass aka U-Bass/Vocals/Trumpet), Tara Lawton (Vocals/Melodica/Percussion), and Nate Searing (Drums/Vocals).
As far as rock bands go, Ukulelien may not be as loud or as physically large, but they will definitely surprise audiences by finding uncharted musical territory with their tiny instruments. Ukulelien can't help but make you smile and sing along.
