"Tyler's Suite": 9-Piece Choral Movement Honors Suicide of Gay Icon Tyler Clementi

Nine contemporary composers joined forces for "Tyler's Suite", an emotional choral movement dedicated to gay musician Tyler Clementi, who died by suicide after being bullied by his college roommate. Presented by Distinguished Concerts International New York, this powerful collection of songs was created under the leadership of composer Stephen Schwartz ("Pippin") and San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus artistic director Timothy Seelig, who looked to explore the voices and experiences of both Clementi and his family. This exciting new work anchors a healing Lincoln Center concert at David Geffen Hall that also includes two works by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo: "Dark Night of the Soul" and "The Ground from his Sunrise Mass".
