Brazil's Tropicalia artistic movement of the late 1960s helped spawn a soulful style of music that combined samba and African rhythms with rock 'n' roll, churning up emotions, political discourse and killer dance moves in equal measure. At its forefront, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso and Gal Gosta were behind some of the movement's greatest contributions, including the seminal album "Tropic??lia ou Panis et Circencis", which "Rolling Stone" listed as No.2 on its list of 100 greatest Brazilian albums of all time.
