About TKA, Flaco Navaja and the Razor Blades / Tony Touch

TKA is a dance group that was prominent in the 1980s and early 1990s, primarily in Freestyle epicenters such as New York, Chicago, and Miami. The trio, hailing from New York City, were signed to Tommy Boy Records in the mid-80s, and released their debut album, Scars of Love, in 1987. The album spawned 6 Billboard Top Dance Hits and several pop hits. The success of the album spurred a mini Latin pop explosion as groups like Expose, The Cover Girls and Lisa Lisa stormed the pop charts. By the release of their second album Louder than Love, TKA was traveling the world opening for groups like Boys II Men, Donna Summer and Paula Abdul. Following pressure from their record label to shift their sound, the group split up, but reunited in 2001.

Former 80’s B-Boy and current CEO, artist, and producer, Tony Touch (aka Tony Toca) continues to be a force to be reckoned with. An icon in Hip Hop and in the Urban Hispanic genre, Tony Touch is a true innovator who has revolutionized the DJ game time and again. From his legendary mixtapes, to his skills on the 1s and 2s, he has become one of Hip Hop’s most recognized DJs. He recently dropped his seventh commercial release, “The Piece Maker 3… Return of the 50 MCs,” and can be heard weekly during “Toca Tuesdays” on Shade 45, Eminem’s SIRIUS XM Satellite Radio Channel.
