About The World-Famous Harlem Gospel Choir

The World-Famous Harlem Gospel Choir at B.B. King's

The Harlem Gospel Choir, the most famous ensemble of its kind in America and one of the preeminent worldwide, brings the music of Harlem and the black church to Times Square in a joyful celebration of high-energy hand clapping, singing and dancing. Made up of the finest singers and musicians from Harlem's black churches and the New York/Tri-State Area, the choir was founded in 1986 by Allen Bailey after he attended a celebration at Harlem's Cotton Club in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. That inspiration can still be felt in the music today, as the choir's uplifting songs of hope touch the soul and raise the spirit. Now's your chance to see the famed choir that's performed alongside such superstars as Andre Rieu, Diana Ross, Bono, Trace Adkins, Brooks & Dunn, The Chieftains, Simple Minds, Sinead O'Connor, Lyle Lovett, Josh Groban and Lisa Marie Presley.
