About The Tracys, The Thrill Sergeants, Samantha, Cash Registers

The Thrill Sergeants formed in 2013 to play high voltage rock n' roll and punk songs they loved growing up...back when they were little thrill sergeants.

Mike Borchardt: guitar and vocals
Alex Hoffman: bass and backing vocals
Gabe Savitz: drums

Chicago, early 2010, Samantha came out swinging, determined to make their place in rock n' roll. After exploring basic punk rock elements, they began to establish a sound all their own. Abrasive melodies coupled with driving beats fuel the band's latest material. Gabe Savitz and Alex Hoffman provide a solid rhythmic backbone for Mike Borchardt's thrashing guitar hooks. In broad strokes, they could be compared to Wire, Jawbreaker, or the Clash.
2010's "Play Nice" EP, served as a quickly recorded musical snapshot that allowed the band to cut its teeth. But after extensively playing the Chicago scene, In 2011, the band decided it was time to take things up a notch. They locked themselves in the studio to record their full length, "Threat Level Pink," released a video for their much hyped "Thieves," and hit the road to promote the album.
The momentum of 2011 and 2012 found the band tirelessly playing, including stretches at both years' SXSW festival in Austin, TX, a national radio campaign which resulted in steady airplay on over 200 radio stations across the country (and Canada), the signing several TV licensing contracts with major networks (MTV, VH1, E!, Oxygen, and Fox to name a few). Last Fall culminated in the realese of their split-EP "Pussyfight" and the decison to take root in Brooklyn, NY, where they have begun to start making a name for themselves in NYC! They have recently begun working on their next album due for release in Fall of 2013, which promises to stay true to that honesty and rawness, but strives to further walk that thin line between the darkest frustration and white-hot elation.
Samantha's song-scapes give voice to every kid who wants to pick up a guitar and say something. That attitude sweats from every beat, from every chord, from every pore. They have been called Post-Punk, they have been called called Thrash-Pop… whatever, you call it, Samantha reminds us that rock n' roll never forgets!

Cash Registers mastermind John Bendik hails from a small Pennsylvania town outside of Pittsburgh. John began his musical life in high school as a hardcore drummer. He was already a veteran of two Pittsburgh bands (Poisoning & Savage Amused) at seventeen.

John’s bands had a brief existence, but left a lasting impression on the East Coast hardcore scene. Mind Cure Records recently released Savage Amused’s first album-length demo on vinyl to great acclaim.

After moving to New York City in the early Nineties, John formed the Cash Registers. The band played a melodic-frenetic style of punk & garage rock. John’s songs ranged from the urban squalor of “Crack House” to the bittersweet love song “All In The Past.”

Cash Registers played hundreds of shows in and around the East Coast, including a dozen or more at CBGB. They shared bills with underground stars like The Oblivians, The Humpers, Gas Huffer, The Lunachicks and many more.

Cash Registers released two E.P’s and recorded countless compilation tracks for Flipside, Go-Kart, Intensive Scare and more before splitting around 2000.

John recently remastered eighteen of the band’s original recordings for the full-length album “Context Demos” released on Million Dollar Records. The album is available now for download.

John also assembled a new version of the band in 2014 with old friends Mark (Wig Hat, Viva La Wattage) on bass and vocals and Rick (Our American Cousins, Ff) on drums. The band is back playing shows around the East Coast & recording and writing new songs.
