The Subtexts, Scarboro, Dummy Pills, Powdermaker, Grundle Thunder

The Subtexts harken back to the glory days of 80's college rock and post-punk. Drawing from the Replacements, Suprechunk, the Pixies and Dinosaur, Jr., their upbeat, energetic sound never stays too far from a good hook, but remains grounded in their shared love of '77 punk. The band is made up of two lawyers and a social worker, all of whom did or do work at the Legal Aid Society. The band has played dozen of shows in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.
