About The Slim Kings with Liberty Devitto

You’ve got to revere and respect your roots in order to tread fresh territory. That’s when you can break ground and truly make a difference. The Slim Kings stand at the eye of a perfect storm for bluesy rock ‘n’ roll. Among the New York group’s ranks are two young guns—singer, and rhythm guitarist Michael Sackler-Berner and lead guitarist Henry Geller—along with legendary drummer Liberty DeVitto, who spent over three decades playing on seminal records for, and performing with Billy Joel. Blending elegant song craft, impeccable instrumentation, and a whole lot of soul, this formidable lineup comes to life on its second full-length offering, Dirty Socks. Self-produced and recorded in their rehearsal studio in Brooklyn, these musicians have written songs together that tap into a pure, palpable, and powerful energy. Featuring mixing by Brian Scheuble [Stone Temple Pilots, Stevie Nicks], the drums reverberate with real bombast, while the guitars churn out raw passion. The Slim Kings got started when we began sending YouTube clips of bands like Gary Clark Jr., Dave Alvin, and The Black Keys to one another. We thought, ‘Hey, we could do this.’
