THE RABBI[s] + THE REBELS

About THE RABBI[s] + THE REBELS

Sometimes, we crave nothing more than pure entertainment. Sometimes, we want to be moved from our guts, to be provoked, to be elevated, from the inside out. And sometimes, we really just want both. Simultaneoulsy. To have them be and’s, not or’s. We want the gospel AND the club. To have the “Church” and our Cocktails. Mantras and Martinis. Passion and Pauses. Even Rabbis and Cat Stevens. Yes, we want our Cake+ Eat it too. Well, if you’re into embracing it all, the yin and the yang, the Rock and the Roll, the Dance and the Dharma, you’ve come to the right place.

Jonathan Pillot hosts Marion LoGuidice and [Rabbi] David Ingber “just being David” for a night of creative combustion that will rock the house while lifting the spirit. Whether it’s Marion’s extraordinary songs or David’s special selections, we’re not only bringing the soul into the night, into the [night]club, we’re celebrating the “rabbi” and the rebel in each of us. The Rabbi[s] + The Rebels features two extraordinary musicians, Ira Siegel (Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Madonna, the Bacon Brothers) on guitar, and Robbie Kondor (Carole King, Barbra Streisand, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springstein) on keyboards.

DAVID INGBER

Named by Newsweek as one of 2013’s top 50 most influential rabbis in the United States as well as by The Forward as one of the 50 most newsworthy and notable Jews in America, Rabbi David Ingber is the Founder and Spiritual Leader of Romemu (romemu.org) based in New York City. David promotes a renewed Jewish mysticism that integrates meditative mindfulness and physical awareness into mainstream, post-modern Judaism. A major 21st Century Jewish thinker and educator, his rich perspective, open heart and mind, and full-bodied approach to Jewish learning has brought him to speak throughout the United States and worldwide throughout Canada, Europe and Israel.

MARION LOGUIDICE

Marion LoGuidice (marionsmusic.com) was 40 years old before she wrote her first song or sang on stage. It is the breadth of her journey that infuses her music – grounded in inclusion, depth and compassion - with a sense of connection. “I want people to know that my songs are the product of a commitment I made to redirect my heart and mind into something that is life-giving.” From the first note on, Loguidice stays true to that path, her music, her mission, clearly accomplished. Think of your favorite songs by Leonard Cohen or Patti Smith -- that’s where Marion LoGuidice lives. She has performed to sold-out audiences at Manhattan’s Joe’s Pub and opened larger shows for the likes of Loudon Wainwright III, all the while continuing a slate of countless house concerts in the Big Apple and surrounding areas. Her album, "Mother Wheel," was followed by "God’s House" (which featured a gut-wrenching duet with fan Cyndi Lauper) and her most recent CD, “Tales from the Topside World” has been described as lyrical, magical, hypnotic, beguiling, fey, incantatory stuff.”
