The New York City College Slam and Open Mic

The New York City College Slam and Open Mic features lively and heartfelt performances by emerging poets. College students are invited to hit the stage with their best work. Slammers compete for prizes and fame. ANY poet is welcome to hit the stage for the open mic. Audience members are judges and cheering section. Everyone rocks the house! NYC College Slam has been hailed as “most fun you can have in NYC for $7”. AND most professors give extra credit for attending this event!!!

Slammers should sign up 10 min before starting time. Poets can sign up for open mic anytime but slammers must be present at the beginning of the event. For slammers, Poetry Slam International rules apply – no costumes, no props, poems of 3 minutes or less. Open mic poems should be under 3 min but no other rules apply.
