The New Literature From Europe Translation Slam

Join us for the first annual NLE Translation Slam as our Austrian, Danish and Catalan writers and their translators delve into the complexities of language and discuss the changes that occur when a text is translated from one language into another. The battle will play out in an onstage Slam, with writers reading from their work in its original language, followed by a translator who reads their interpretation of the text in English. By the end of the night, you’ll have first-hand experience of how easy it is for words to get lost in translation, and you will have an all-new appreciation for the unsung heroes of literature – the translators!
