About "The Music of Eric Whitacre"

DCINY's "The Music of Eric Whitacre" at Carnegie Hall

You don't have to buy the world a Coke to get it singing in perfect harmony; you just need Eric Whitacre. The Grammy-winning composer-conductor is perhaps most famous for his Virtual Choirs, which have brought together the voices of singers from over 110 different countries. Full of inventive ideas, Whitacre has drawn inspiration from such diverse sources as Emily Dickinson and Godzilla for his compositions, and has enlisted audience members to join the orchestra by playing a phone app for his tribute to Hubble Space Telescope images. In this concert at Carnegie Hall, presented by DCINY, Whitacre will conduct choirs from around the world in a program of his own work.
