About The Millenium, The Future Laureates, Kiernan McMullan, Marina City, Maudlin

These songs are a collection of memories and instances. Of love. Of loss. Of learning. These songs are an extension of ourselves - much in the same way as our arms and legs. These songs created us more than we created them. We are The Millenium, and we are humbled that you are on our silly little social media site listening.

With a successful presence at SXSW and Summerfest 2012 and 2013, combined with airplay on hundreds of college radio stations across North America, The Future Laureates are celebrating with unabashed energy and triumph. Offering positive punk-rock energy with folk/pop musicianship, their sonic champagne is frothing and bubbling with their fourth studio release, EVERYTHING AT ONCE. It is seriously full of fun.

2012's FORTRESS SESSIONS and the live shows that followed cemented the band's place as an energetic force in Chicago's vibrant and diverse music scene. Josh Terzino of Music-Defined called their sold-out album release show "one of the most electric shows [he's] ever seen." And that's not all. Their music has won licensing deals with a variety of shows on MTV, Showtime, Style, Discovery Networks, and Bravo! via Tinderbox music.

Touring has brought together even more fans through numerous Midwest, Southwest, and East Coast journeys as well as legendary hometown venues including Chicago's House of Blues and Metro. They've shared crowds with Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes, MGMT, The Eagles, Drive-By Truckers, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, hellogoodbye, Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons, JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound, Dawes, Smash Mouth, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Saints of Valory, The Roots, ZZ Top, Brendan Benson, GIVERS, and Thievery Corporation.

"a refreshing validation of what a singer/songwriter should be" -Mike Knightson - NEWSTALK

"impressive….with style" - HOTpress magazine

Not really being from anywhere has it's benefits. There is a refreshing perspective that comes when there is no one place you call home.

Born in Hong Kong and having grown up between Ireland and Boston to an Irish father and Australian mother it really isn't surprising that he finds it hard to stay in one place for too long.

In 2008 Kiernan signed his first record deal with Warner Brother's sub label 111 records. The record was released in November 2008 during a time when the music industry's financial crisis was in full swing.

"All i needed was a plane ticket over. I had no van yet so I spent the first 3 months on greyhound buses and hitchhiking. Let's just say every day was it's own story"

With nothing but a hiking bag and his guitar he hitched and bussed the length of the east coast and parts of the midwest playing shows every other day.

Fast forward to now and you find Kiernan with a van and an impressive musical resume. Having shared stages with everyone from Sheryl Crow, Colbie Callait and Sublime to Meg and Dia, Lisa Hannigan and The Proclaimers to name just a few.

It would appear that this is only the beginning. With his full length record "Perfect People are Boring" and his more recent acoustic E.P. "The Best Part" both released to a very enthusiastic grassroots following, the anticipation is building to here his newest record "Two Years" recorded in Ireland this year.

"It's my best attempt to take ten songs and try to tell the story of the last two years from me. There have been some of the highest highs and lowest lows of my entire life within this 730 day adventure from November 2nd 2008 to November 2nd 2010."

It looks like this is just the prologue of a bigger story that is far from over.

Since the 2012 release of their breakthrough EP, "In the Wake of Dreaming", Marina City has rapidly become one of the most elite bands of the Chicago music scene. Their debut sold out show at the House of Blues and second place title at Columbia College's Biggest Mouth landed them spotlights on many local radio stations and papers. They've toured the Midwest, headlining their own stage at Rockapalooza in Jackson, Michigan, and have been an opening act for Go Radio, as well as direct support for Lucky Boys Confusion.

Marina City spent June recording their single, "Falling Up and Breaking Down", with Grammy award winning producer, Zak Jablow, and engineer Alex Prieto (Pierce the Veil). "Falling Up and Breaking Down" has since been released, with the accompanying music video directed by Anastasia Basche.

Marina City is described as Pop Rock, but the fusion of catchy melodies and heavy instrumentals create their aggressive edge. Their unforgettable live show is one of their best aspects. They command the crowd and their stage presence is explosive.

Though Marina City's music can be all pervading, their personalities are certainly charismatic. The band possesses a great sense of humor and is known for creating lighthearted, and hilarious promotional videos. The sextet has become a family, with a common thread of passion and dedication. Marina City's intentions for the listener include individual strength, determination, and the power of big dreams.
This sextet includes Ryan Alan (lead vocals), Brain Johnson (vocals/guitar), Matt Gaudiano (vocals/keys), Ricky Sutton (lead guitar), Eric Somers-Urrea (percussion), and Aaron Heiy (bass).

"Maudlin changes up styles and tempos throughout The Second Law of Thermodynamics, and while the potential is there for an album by a lesser band to become disjointed, Maudlin has the talent to make it work." -Sean Brown, Rift Magazine

"Need a new favorite band? Try on St. Paul's Maudlin for size. Raised on a steady diet of the Pixies (and every other Frank Black or Kim Deal side project, for that matter), you best believe the group's twin vocalists, David and Priscilla Priebe, know a thing or two about post-punk and slightly off-kilter power pop.
