The Middle Eight w/ Haunt the House

Over the past five years, Brooklyn's The Middle Eight has gained a reputation across the northeast for it's high-energy indie rock shows, psychedelic projections and songwriting marked by adventurous arrangements and instrumentation.

The brainchild of songwriter and lead singer Jason Olshan, the group, which also includes David McTiernan (keyboards), Steve Plekan (bass), and Tallin Lamonaca (drums) has released two full-length albums - 2007's 'Unwind,' and 2011's 'Strange Loop' - in addition to a self-titled EP in 2009. That EP gained the band international notoriety with the single "Love; Pass It On" which earned them a part in The Rebound alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones and Justin Bartha.

'Strange Loop,' produced by Nicholas Sansano (Sonic Youth, Public Enemy), is the band's most wide-ranging work to date, including fully arranged parts for string and horn sections, venturing into episodic, at times theatrical composition - including "Latter Days," accompanied by a multi-media stop motion film, and the album closer "Master Raro." It's the band's knack for this style of work that has earned them the role as composers of an upcoming indie rock musical based on the work of horror/fantasy author H.P. Lovecraft.

The band is currently working on a follow-up to 'Strange Loop' to be released in 2014.
