The Maisons, Viva Jenessey, Kim Vogels

Originally from Amsterdam I began my musical journey at the age of five with the cello. Classically trained with a touch of jazz, cello was the path I was bound on from the start. With my interests in performance growing in my early teens I started leaning more towards acting as her creative outlet. Having studied experimental theater in London and naturalistic acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute, I am now a professional actor in NYC.
Music came rushing back into my life with my roles in "Under The Greenwood Tree" and "Folk City", both plays that required actor-musicians, learning the guitar and opening me up to song writing. Now gigging frequently throughout NYC I use my cello as well as the guitar to accompany my original music. Often performing with other musicians around the city, collaboration is a great passion of mine and creating music with friends is really what it's all about.
