About THE JAGUAR CLUB
The Jaguar Club (MKII)
It's Summer 2014 and The Jaguar Club has reunited after four years. Though we also never went anywhere!

The Original lineup of Yoichiro Fujita (bass), Jeremiah Joyce (drums), and Will Popadic (vocals/guitar) was born in Brooklyn NY in early 2006. The band played some 100 shows over the next 4 years, touring regularly throughout the Eastern USofA and honing a razor sharp live show. Bills were shared with many fine bands including such notables as: Ash, Bear In Heaven, The Joy Formidable, Ra Ra Riot, The Duke Spirit, The Veils, Sunny Day In Glasgow, Mobius Band, Pela, etc.
The band released the Jaguar Club EP in 2006, the Ceci n'est pas le Club De Jaguar EP in 2007, and the LP And We Wake Up Slowly in 2009. The full length was recorded with producer Kevin McMahon (French Kicks, Titus Andronicus, Real Estate, etc) and saw the band embrace the studio as never before. Both Ceci n'est pas… and And We Wake Up Slowly spent time on the CMJ charts (notable for self-released records) with And We Wake Up Slowly charting in the top 25 and reaching number one with many stations in Fall 2009.
Gavin Dunaway joined as an auxillary guitarist for touring in support of the album throughout 2009 and 2010. We'll see him again later.
In October 2010 the original version of the Jaguar Club band played it's final show and Will and Yoi embarked on a new project which they dubbed Medals. The basis for Medals' debut LP Dancing In Ceremony (releasedMarch 2011) was a batch of songs that had been written for a new JC album but made heavy use of synthesizers and drum programming for the first time. This also marked the band's first real attempt at self recording/producing. Nadia Brittingham was drafted as a touring keyboard player and the band hit the road with a drum machine.
The Long Distance EP (released August 2013) was the product of actual long distance with band members taking buses trains and cars back and forth between Brooklyn and Will's new home (and basement studio) in scenic Beverly, MA. Despite the heavy travel it marked the first proper proper writing and recording collaboration between the three members. A handful of regional shows were played before the band found Patrick Eager who kicked the drum machine out.
Invigorated by the sound of live drums again the band quickly set to work composing a new batch of songs. With the band's sound mutating once again (and Pat being the cousin of original JC drummer Jeremiah) it seemed a fitting time to bring back the Jaguar Club name and dust of some favorite older songs. Gavin Dunaway returned to the fold in spring 2014 and The Jaguar Club MKII swelled to a quintet.
The band is currently recording a host of new material for release in Fall 2014, and is eager to return to touring with a mix of songs from it's varied back catalog.
