The Flavr Blue (Live Vocal DJ Set)

Parker, Hollis and Lace make up The Flavr Blue, a synth-pop trio from Seattle, WA. Following their release of their debut album Pisces in August 2012, The Flavr Blue has been igniting parties from their hometown to New York City with driving bass, catchy melodies, dazzling visuals and a lot of verve. Guided by the voices of all three members, their music ranges from the bright and dreamy to sultry and moody; their live experience, catalyzed by the crowd's energy, is a hella good time.

The Flavr Blue is a sonic departure for each member, who all have considerable experience and achievement within Seattle's dynamic hip-hop and R&B communities. Parker Joe's production and emcee work anchors his crew State of the Artist; Lace Cadence is a seasoned rapper and crooner as a solo artist as well as with his group Clockwork, and is known for his work with Blast Off Productions; Hollis Wong-Wear, one half of the rap duo Canary Sing, also has released work with her acoustic R&B outfit The Heartfelts.

The group began working on music together in the summer of 2011, when Parker and Lace, inspired in part by the bold, hypnotic sounds of contemporary Scandinavian electronic artists, spent long nights collaborating and experimenting with ambient synth production. To complete the last song on the duo's first EP, they invited Hollis in as a feature on a sparkling, house-tinged track that would become the group's signature song "In My Dream." The chemistry was undeniable, and she joined the collective to shape their debut LP.

The video for their first single from Pisces "F X F," debuted on the Swedish blog Discobelle as well as on VEVO, and has nearly 100K views. In Summer 2013, after starting the Spring with performances at SXSW and a sold-out show at Seattle's Barboza, they will bring the flavr to California and the Midwest, in addition to their local performances at Capitol Hill Block Party and Bumbershoot (which is going to be bananas.)
