The Double Negatives

After the end of our last project and our old guitarist leaving, our three remaining members Mikey DiBernardo (drums), Dimitri Almeyda (bass), and Rob Connolly (voice, guitar) were on a search for a new sound. After expanding our musical influences and the addition of our lead guitarist, Brandon Campana, we found a niche we called indie jam rock and we took off as The Double Negatives. Before long we had a full album's worth of songs and were booking shows in the spring of 2014, our senior year of high school, when tragedy struck us. Our good friend and drummer, Mikey, passed from a rare disorder called HLH and we were floored. We questioned if we should continue music or just move on. It didn't take long to realize that we must continue with music; not just for us, but for the memory of our brother and bandmate. So over the next year as we went different ways, some to college, some to travel, we came back in the spring of 2015 with a newly restored desire to create and reach people with our music. Over the summer we started preparing music; some older songs, some new. We continued to create but were still stuck without a new drummer. Now we come to the present where we have two new additions - one, our long time friend and photographer, Dan O'Hara came and started helping not only with our photos and videos but also started on rhythm guitar and keys and two, we found our new drummer in our friend Kevin McDaniel. Suddenly our project came to light as a five piece and we are in the process of booking shows as we prepare to record our e.p. in December.
