About The Chekhov Dreams

Dark Romantic Comedy "The Chekhov Dreams"

Death, loss, literature and suicide are at the heart of dark romantic comedy "The Chekhov Dreams". But it's not "all" bleak: the play's also about love, hope, dreams and letting go of the past in order to move on. The story centers around Jeremy, a melancholic writer who's coping with the death of his fiancee by keeping his beloved, and their quick-witted bantering relationship, very much alive in his dreams. In order to shake off his bedridden lifestyle, he enrolls in an acting class ... which leads to one unexpected consequence after another. Those acquainted with the works of Chekhov, will see a glimmer of "The Seagull" reflected in this production unfolding at New York's Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row.
