House of Time: Baroque Ensemble Plays Bach & Vivaldi

New York's most exciting new baroque ensemble gets its 2015-2016 season going with oboe and violin concertos by Bach and Vivaldi, whose "Sancto Sepulcro" sonatas are also on the bill, as is Samuel Barber's well-known Adagio for Strings. Embarking on its third season, House of Time has made a solid home for itself in Manhattan by building an inventive repertoire of 17th-20th century music, performed on period instruments. The five-member group features faculty and graduates of Juilliard, along with international competition winners, and includes violinist Tatiana Daubek, oboist Gonzalo X. Ruiz, cellist Paul Dwyer, violist Beiliang Zhu and harpsichordist Avi Stein. Their latest concert, dubbed "The Cantor, the Priest and the Barber", will no doubt take advantage of the stellar acoustics at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
