About The Band Called FUSE: Rise Together! Live!

From Brussels to Brooklyn, The Band Called FUSE gathers the most diverse performers from the worlds of hip hop, rock and soul to deliver a one-of-a-kind live music experience. With guitar, bass, drums, two skilled MCs and a soulful singer (plus countless musical guests), the band draws from a broad range of influences to create New York’s new sound of Soul Rock in the tradition of The Roots, Rage Against The Machine and The Fugees. The Band Called FUSE’s broad range, powerful jams and sheer energy at live shows won them a dedicated fan base of Soul Rockas who identify with the diversity and authenticity of the music and the scene - embodied in the band’s motto: “Rise Together”. Champions of the DIY approach, The Band Called FUSE ran three successful back-to-back Kickstarter crowd-funding projects, toured to the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, TX, built their own recording studio and celebrated the 5-year anniversary of their groundbreaking Manhattan showcase, The Line Up. The band has now embarked on its most ambitious challenge to date to record a live album and concert movie at Littlefield in Brooklyn on October 16 and 17, 2015 with legendary New York live sound engineer Steve Remote.

Belgian rock brothers X (guitar) and Toast (bass) started The Band Called FUSE by collaborating with underground hip hop MCs in and around New Jersey. They picked up a solid rhythm section with veteran drummer Mr. Pokkett and beat-maker Soul Qloc before recruiting lead MC Silent Knight -one of Rawkus Records’ 50 most promising new artists. In 2010, the band headed to New York to launch the weekly Line Up showcase, welcoming over 200 up-and-coming MCs, singers, musicians and beat-makers over the years and attracting the attention of such notables as Ali Shaheed Muhammad (A Tribe Called Quest), Pharoahe Monch and John Forte (The Fugees). The arrival of lead vocalist K-Dez in 2011 signaled the maturing of The Band Called FUSE's signature Soul Rock sound featured on their critically-acclaimed, crowd-funded “Impossible Dream” EP (2014). The Band Called FUSE has opened for such luminaries as Talib Kweli, Captain Kirk of The Roots, and MURS and landed several self-produced singles on the CMJ radio college charts.

Backed with distorted guitars and thick drums, SK spits gems on some Rage Against the Machine-ish, if Rage were hardcore Hip-Hop heads. -2DopeBoyz
