"The American Play": College Students Obsess Over "American Psycho"

First, it was a controversial novel, then a polarizing movie starring Christian Bale, and most recently, a London musical. Now, "American Psycho" is at it again, inspiring "The American Play", winner of the FringeNYC 2015 Overall Excellence in Playwriting. A pair of college students' infatuation with Bret Easton Ellis' postmodern novel and its main character of Patrick Bateman, a young Manhattan investment banker by day, serial killer by night, sends them down a dark, violent path. New York's SoHo Playhouse stages this Fringe 2015 encore production.
