About Tendencia

For the first time in their 22 year existence, the pre-eminent , Cuban Ethno-metal band, Tendencia are coming to the United States…Brooklyn to be precise. On Wednesday, December 30th, the 6 piece, battle tested juggernaut will headline a stacked bill at the lava-hot Williamsburg club, Baby’s All Right. The impressive lineup includes proven locals Activator and The Wilding Incident, as well as DJ sets from Jaleel Bunton of TV on the Radio and the ubiquitous party-maestro, Greg Caz. The night promises to be remarkable for many reasons: the least being that the boys from Pinar Del Rio are the first wave of artists from the shrouded Socialist nation to take advantage of newly relaxed travel restrictions and show the world what we’ve been missing. Taking their cue from acts such as Sepultura and Rage Against the Machine, Tendencia are all ferocity and conviction with a major tip of their caps to their Afro-cuban heritage. Due to their well- earned respect at home, the band was able to secure visas to play a gig in Puerto Rico. From there, they’ve made their way to New York for their only U.S. performance. In addition to their American debut, they will be recording with legendary producer Scotty Hard, he of, Medeski, Martin and Wood, Nacao Zumbi and the Wu-Tang Clan. Doors are at 8:00. Tickets, $10 in advance, $12 at the show. Baby’s All Right, 146 Broadway, Williamsburg. 718-599-5800
