Taylor Simone

Taylor Simone is an LA native and NY wanderer who's been singing since she learned how to talk, and songwriting since she realized she had a voice. Coming from a musical family background and a spoken word context, Taylor started writing music and it soon progressed from a stress-relieving exercise to her #1 passion. She soon after became a participant in Grammy Camp, where she featured in the documentary "Happy on the Ground," as well as a member of Grammy Jazz Ensembles, and NFAA Young Arts.

Fast forward four years, and Taylor Simone is a Senior at Columbia University, having performed at venues from the Mint and the Troubadour to the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. She debuted her first EP entitled Songs From the Front Yard this past September, and dropped her video for the track "Greedy," in February 2014, which has been very well-recieved. Most recently, she won her college's Battle of the Bands, and opened for Lupe Fiasco as California Love with rapper Josh Mac. Whether performing, writing, or recording, Simone is all about honesty and improvement. If her music connects in any way to anyone else, she feels that she's done her job.
