About Tau Cross, Morne, Trenchgrinder

TAU CROSS is an underground punk/metal union featuring bassist and vocalist Rob "The Baron" Miller (Amebix), Michel "Away" Langevin (Voivod) on drums and Jon Misery (Misery) and Andy Lefton (War//Plague) on guitars. Formed in 2013 across two continents and three countries, TAU CROSS is the natural evolution of Miller's work in Amebix. Tribal rhythms, searing guitars and Miller's huge booming voice are all set to an apocalyptic atmosphere that will satisfy the crustiest punks as well as the blackest metallers. TAU CROSS refuses to be pigeonholed, affirming the respective legacies of its members – the band delves into the realms of gothic rock, industrial, early doom, post-punk, and prog rock alongside its crust & thrash roots.

The band's self-titled debut was recorded in 2014 and released in May 2015, and immediately found widespread critical reception. Cvlt Nation called Tau Cross "a thundering sonic journey, conjuring magick and darkness from the listener's soul," and Metal Injection stated, "Tau Cross has absolutely killed it and we are all better off for having this album in our collective lives," while Invisible Oranges described the record as "never losing a penchant for strong songwriting" and warned listeners to "ignore it at your own peril." TAU CROSS may have set a high standard for its first record, but if the band has proven anything so far, it's that it's incredibly skilled at meeting – and exceeding – expectations.

Morne was a concept that began with many trials and tribulations. The band was founded by Milosz Gassan in 2005, and while there were many interested individuals in making the project happen, only one lineup had the dedication and passion to make the band a reality. In 2007, Milosz was joined by Max Furst (bass) and Kevin Adams (drums) and it was here where Morne began to create and develop the band's distinct sound heard today. After just a few months of rehearsal, the band entered a studio to record their first demo. As time went on, the songs continued to further shape and evolve. In the following summer of 2008, Morne was joined by Jeff Hayward right before the band's first formal studio recording session for a split 12" with the UK band Warprayer.

After brief touring and intensive rehearsal, Morne finally unveiled their debut full-length album "Untold Wait" in late 2009. The album was the culmination of over 2 years efforts and hard work as a group. Morne also invited guest musicians Kris Force and Alicia Morgan to contribute their talents and signatures to further the album's vast concept. Due to artistic and personal differences, the band parted ways with Kevin prior to the album's release. In his place, Erik Larson stepped up to substitute for their first European tour in the summer of 2009. After nearly one year without a permanent drummer, Morne was joined by Billy Knockenhauer in September of 2010 to perform with the band full-time. The band has also since been joined by Ian Shultz to fulfill the role of permanent keyboard and sound manipulation, helping to complete the band's live sound.

In 2011 Morne released their second full length “Asylum”. While still maintaining the band’s crust, hardcore, and post-metal leanings, “Asylum” sees the band delve more into genres such as progressive metal and classic ‘70s prog rock, as well as neo-classical chamber (Kris Force once again makes a guest appearance, this time being accompanied by Jarboe on the album’s closing track ‘Volition’) classic ‘80s post-punk (i.e. Joy Division, Cure) and some influence from classic art rock (i.e. Swans, Fields Of The Nephilhim).
