The Broadway at Birdland concert series isproud to announce that Broadway/cabaret star T. Oliver Reid will make hisBirdland concert debut on Monday, February 8 with Drop Me Off In Harlem. Theconcert will take place at 7pm.

The singer and Broadwayhoofer T. Oliver Reid takes us on a free-wheeling ride up toHarlem circa 1934 in his Bistro Award-winning show “Drop Me Off in Harlem.” Inthis club-hopping journey into the sultry demi-monde of Harlem jazz clubs andspeakeasies, Reid propels us into a night of uptown enchantment using hisunique arsenal of talents. Equal parts actor-singer, showman and socialobserver, Reid’s helium light renditions of songs by Duke Ellington, HaroldArlen, and Andy Razaf (among others) conjure up deep-rooted memoriesof jazzin’ and boozin’ we didn’t even know we had.

Music director Lawrence Yurman onpiano, will lead a seven piece band that includes Damien Bassman onpercussion, Ray Kilday on bass, Trevor Neumann ontrumpet and members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center All-stars/After Midnightband.

Since his professional debut in February 2011, which Stephen Holden of The NYTimes labeled “an unfaltering emotional high-wire act,” Reid has emergedas one of New York’s most captivating male singers… “a soulfulcrooner with resemblances to the young Bobby Short,” Holdenadds. On Broadway, Reid has worked in some the Great White Way’sbiggest, splashiest hit musicals. These have included Chicago, Kiss Me Kate, Follies, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Never Gonna Dance, La Cage Aux Folles, TheWedding Singer, Damn Yankees, Mary Poppins, and After Midnight. He also captured the 2012 MAC Award for hiscabaret debut, and received the 2013 Bistro Award for Theme Show while making astring of high-profile appearances at The Metropolitan Room, Feinstein’s, 54Below and Dizzy’s at the Coca Cola.
