About Swift Technique + Funky Dawgz Brass Band

Morris Day???, which will continue to be performed on select dates throughout the country. With a new EP release slated for Summer 2016, Swift Technique plans to debut a large portion of new material on March 5th at Johnny Brenda???s in Philadelphia.

After forming in 2007, Swift Technique has relentlessly toured, performed and recorded throughout the US. The extremely positive and contagious chemistry shared by the band has always been translated in the live setting. With the 2013 release of, ???you boys be aight???, Swift Technique established themselves as an up and coming force in the recording industry. Although the group draws from many influences ranging Funk & Soul to Hip-Hop & Rock, their genre is uniquely Philadelphia.

Throughout their short history, Swift Technique has had the privilege to hold direct support slots for The Meters, Wu-Tang Clan, Fishbone, Soulive, The M&M???s (John Medeski, Stanton Moore, Papa Mali, Rob Mercurio), The Motet, Kermit Ruffins, Wale, Questlove of the Roots, Keri Hilson, Big Sam???s Funky Nation, Orgone, Kung Fu, Mr. Lif, The Fela! ???Their contagious energy & musical prowess is undeniable, and you cannot help but smile & dance when you watch these guys play.???
??? Live For Live Music

???Swift Technique???s vocalist, Chelsea ViaCava, mesmerized the audience with her soulful voice [???] Never before have I seen such a unique and unprecedented performance.???
??? Rebecca Wolfe, The Music Vibes

???This octet naturally brings a high energy, layered sound to their music, containing a heavy funk horn section bursting forth from trumpet, trombone, and saxophone like fourth of July fireworks. With these elements is a perfect mixture of smooth melodic bass lines and a crunchy clean rhythm guitar that manages to harness these wild ostentatious grooves.???
??? Christian Pezzino, THAT MAG

???Swift Technique??? (an appropriate name for this group) was one of the tightest, most original acts I???d seen in The District in a long time. With one microphone ??? front and center ??? the brass players seemed to trade off, each dancing when not soloing or accompanying the others. ???The Temptations??? would have been proud!???
??? Fritz Rumohr, DC Live Music Examiner

???Absolutely amazing, They blew me away with what???s best described as a horn infused blend of funk and hip hop (???) Watch for these guys to explode???
??? Bag of Songs Music Blog

???One of the best live bands I???ve ever seen??? & ???One of my favorite bands in the world???
??? Kevin Kennedy, Philadelphia Music Critic and founder of The Swollen Fox Music Blog

???Well its not everyday you run into a band that you can automatically feel is destined for greatness. Swift Technique does Philly proud with their eclectic vibes and funky tunes that just draws the crowd in. Get your autographs and photo ops now, because in about 3 years, with the direction that these guys are going the only time you???ll see them this close and personal is on TV.???
??? Christian Denzel, Sheddin.com

The Roots should watch out. Swift Technique is exactly the type of harvest you???d expect to reap from a purely organic, Philadelphia funk band.
??? Quentin Williams, Temple University News
