About Story Pirates

Story Pirates Perform Outrageous Stories Written by Kids

Every Saturday, the hilarious acting troupe known as the Story Pirates sails into New York's Davenport Theatre with a sketch comedy musical that's based entirely on stories written by elementary schoolers. Whether it's a recap of a family night at the rodeo, or a first grader learning to spell his own name, the Story Pirates will bring it to life on stage. Called "crazy entertaining" by Jon Stewart, the show features live music, puppets and colorful costumes and props. Each show features a combination of "greatest hits" (written by kids from around the country), as well as new stories (written by kids in the audience). One week, you could see a tale about mischievous dogs who peer pressure their owners, and the next, it's a triumphant rock opera about the time it rained at a Mets game. And it's all pitched perfectly to grown-ups and kids alike.
