About Speakeasy Moderne: a Modern Twist on the Illicit Speakeasy
On Friday, April 3rd at The Cutting Room, get swept up in the world of Speakeasy Moderne, where singers enchant, flappers flirt and dancers dazzle. Hosted by "Official Hank" Stampfl, it's an unforgettable evening featuring an intoxicating blend of pop hits set in the style of jazz age Manhattan and vaudeville. A unique cabaret with a touch of burlesque!
Chloe Lowery will lead the show with her powerful, enchanting voice. The evening will feature Broadway dancers Kimberly Schafer, Jessica Coffman, Heather Lea Bair, Bronwyn Tarboton and Tommy Scrivens, all who have performed in such shows as “42nd Street”, “A Chorus Line” and “Saturday Night Fever”. Singer and songwriter Dina Finai comes to us from the amazing Trans Siberian Orchestra. Also taking the stage will be the stunning Burlesque Star Puss N Boots. The Matt Baker trio band will take us back to the world of the speakeasies.
With songs ranging from the Tin Pan Alley era to the Golden Age of Broadway to today's pop charts, the show puts a modern twist on the old school, illicit speakeasy.
Director and Choreographer: Kimberly Schafer. Cocktail wear is encouraged and audience members are asked to come dressed in their best 1920's attire. Musical numbers include "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” (Fergie); “Bring on the Men” (Jekyll and Hyde); "Respect" (Aretha Franklin); "Proud Mary" (Tina Turner)
