About Sometime Boys, Even Twice, Regular Einstein

Even Twice has been playing it's brand of- as one DJ put it -"ceiling tile rattling music" for the past three years. Based in New York, they've also made multiple trips to Boston, Philadelphia, the Midwest and beyond. Said one reviewer on their live set; " Even twice. Bass and drums, two vocals...The Jam meets King Crimson...over the top, but kicks ass." The term "Prog/punk" has also been used to describe their two full length albums, both of have which garnered great press in various magazines:

"...shows the possibilities of bass guitar as lead instrument and throws in Alt rock with a New York, new wave element that make Even Twice add up to much more than a novelty act." -Power Play Magazine

"...listening to the many shapes pulled off on their respective elements, these boys seem to not see themselves up against any limit...punk rhythms are an engine to most of the uptempo cuts, but a strain of Thin Lizzy element fills the album's best, and gives the album it's bounce." - Metalville

" Even Twice explore new musical ground that has not been seen or heard in these parts before. Vocally, the band is potent and convincing, while the underlying music is both stark and driving. Both Hait and O'Shea are excellent players, with an eye (and ear) for the sublime."- Metronome magazine

"Top five editor's pick"- Performer magazine.

Recently, Even Twice has appeared on two compilations from New York based label Factoryfast records, and are one of the most requested artists on the label, receiving extensive airplay on such internet radio stations as Boston rock Radio, Rodent hour (Brooklyn), Open the door radio (Colorado), ISX radio (Windsor Canada), and Dr Bones new music Saturday (London Ontario, Canada). with almost 100 shows under their belt, Even Twice is poised to bring their sound to an ever widening audience.

Regular Einstein's new album, Chimp Haven, puts a fresh face on the band's crunchy-twisty indie rock, informed by punk and power pop. The band was born in 1994 in NYC when songwriter/singer Paula Carino met guitarist Dave Benjoya (Admiral Porkbrain, Food on You) and Andy Mattina (Gregory's Funhouse, Solar Punch) at the venerable Fort at Sidewalk Cafe (where Paula was dubbed "Queen of Antifolk" for the autumn of '94). Over time, the kindred spirits went through a Spinal Tap-like succession of drummers. Paula eventually went solo in the '00s, but the musicians remained good friends and re-formed RegEin in 2010 with the addition of drummer extraordinaire Nancy Polstein (Cheri Knight, Will Rigby, Wirebirds).

Others have said:

"...clever and literate...fresh and intriguing..." All Music Guide

"...An inventive lyricist quick to turn a phrase upside down and inside out..." - American Songwriter

"...Carino's songs are sardonic but intensely emotional, rich with symbolism, double entendres and laugh-out-loud clever puns." - Lucid Culture
