About Skyfactor
One listen to SKYFACTOR's SIGNAL STRENGTH and it's clear these guys know how to craft memorable and powerful "Rockoustic" songs that grab you from the get-go ??? and won't let go. SKYFACTOR's simple but effective melodies combine with edgy dynamics to take the listener on a ride each and every time.
Formed on a rooftop in the East Village of New York City, SKYFACTOR was born when the musical paths of longtime friends Bob Ziegler and Jason Taylor (formerly of Michigan's Brother Rabbit) and brothers Jon Rubin and Cliff Rubin (formerly of NYC's Sky Blues) finally crossed. Almost instantly the songs started flowing out, and they knew they were on to something.
Their debut album Daydreams received much critical acclaim and notice, including that of MTV, who chose the track "OK" as the theme song for an episode of Teen Mom, resulting in something of a hit single for the band, with many thousands of downloads and streams from around the world. Skyfactor also must have a big fan at NBC's The Voice, who used another cut from Daydreams no less than three times in the same season, including in their season finale which was seen by 14 million viewers.
After the success of Daydreams, the quartet honed their musical chemistry and style on stage for the next two years before heading back into the studio to capture the group's surging energy and momentum. The result is SIGNAL STRENGTH, which represents the band in its finest form yet ??? thanks to personal, insightful lyrics backed by a big acoustic guitar and one very powerful rhythm section.
SKYFACTOR also made a splash on satellite radio, when SiriusXM picked the band to be the subject of an exclusive live concert broadcast from New York City; and had a song from Signal Strength prominently (and humorously) featured on Adult Swim's popular Eric Andre Show.
Refreshingly spare while layered with deep emotion, the band's songs have a way of becoming the latest soundtrack-to-your-life before you even realize it. Once you hear their new record ??? and then experience SKYFACTOR live ??? you'll understand what all the buzz is about.
