About Sky Pony

The "indie pop aces" (NYTimes) of Sky-Pony welcome you to Candyland this February. The "adventurous, melodic, weird and absolutely brilliant" (Pop Dose) band will be serving up their usual dose of lush, lyrical, often cheeky indie-pop with a healthy splash of candy-sweet theatrics -- there will be ring pops. Rock concert meets performance art meets burlesque, you might say, or "tight, fierce, hilarious and out of their minds" according to The Wall Street Journal. The Brooklyn-based band is a collaboration between singer/actress Lauren Worsham (Drama Desk Award winner and Tony Award nominee) and her musician/writer husband Kyle Jarrow (Obie Award winner). It also features the talents of guitarist Kevin Wunderlich, drummer Perry Silver, bassist Eric Day, cellist David Blasher, and a rotating cast of backup singers including Gizel Jimenez, Michaela Bryce, Kristin Piacentile, Sharone Sayegh, Katie Lee Hill and Jessi Suzuki. Sky-Pony's debut LP Beautiful Monster dropped December 4, 2015 from Knitting Factory Records. Their discography also includes Say You Love Me Like You Mean It (EP) and the live EPs Raptured and Songs of Love and Misery. They've released music videos for The Watcher and Say You Love Me Like You Mean It. Their stage show The Wildness ran in New York City from February-April 2016 to critical acclaim, garnering a Lortel Award nomination for Outstanding Musical.
