About Silverteeth

Silverteeth first crossed paths in a Bushwick, Brooklyn artist loft
where singer/songwriter Bill Bartholomew had created a DIY studio/venue and singer/songwriter Gabriela Rassi had just moved into upon relocating to New York City from Brazil. The pair mostly ignored each other at first, carrying on with their own projects until mutual financial distress led to the idea of performing together for tips on the subway. Before long, they began working on each others original material, and after 100+ shows and hundreds hours of travel and singing together, their fundraising effort had morphed into the beginnings of a full-fledged career.

Silverteeth have quietly been writing their debut record throughout 2014, all-the-while testing material on stages including a month-long residency at New York's Ace Hotel as well as shows in the eastern U.S. and Brazil. They've shared bills with contemporaries Death Vessel, Streets of Laredo, Toy Soldiers, Andrew Combs and Bird Courage.

Ahead of their debut record, the band recorded a pair of live videos at The Columbus Theater in Bartholomew's native Providence, RI, with indie-folk pioneers The Low Anthem at the helm. The danceable 'Shoes' contrasts perfectly with their spacial, vibrant rendition of Daniel Johnston's 'Devil Town'.
