About SILENT FEST: feat. So Hideous, Set And Setting, North, Bereft, Sangharsha

So Hideous...formed in 2008 with the intention to make soundtracks for films that have yet to exist. Throat searing chamber music. An orchestra of guitars, bass, drum and boss pedals. Fusing elements of ambient, post rock, hardcore, black metal and neo-classical to craft a wholly unique, intense experience. To help achieve an immense and ornate sound the collective augments their studio recordings with the expanded instrumentation of strings, pianos and vocalists.

"If you're going to listen to heavy post-rock like this, it's best to do so on an overcast, gloomy day to get the full impact. While a good chunk of the Temporary Residence Limited roster mines these same peaks and valleys, Set and Setting's debut LP, Equanimity, proves there's still gold to be found out in those hills." - Decibel Magazine

"After two records of Pelican worship, the sextet's third LP added bad-cop-only mouthpiece in Kyle Hardy, and the riffage got rabid. Other than a few well-timed, delay soaked interludes, What You Were is all onslaught, smartly detonating triumphant melodies beneath the collapse and crush." - Decibel Magazine.

Madison, Wisconsin's Bereft began in the summer of 2011 in as an idea formulated by guitarist/vocalist Zach Johnson, and guitarist Alex Linden. The two wanted to start a project that encompassed their views on religion, politics, social injustice, and the human condition. Drawing from elements of black metal, post-metal, doom, and other forms of ambient music; they released their first demo in November of 2013. Rounding out the lineup with Neil Weiss, and Cade Gentry, Bereft plans on playing regionally and recording their first album in the winter of 2014, which will be available on vinyl in the spring of the same year.
