About Shotgun Wedding

Formed in the winter of 2011, Shotgun Wedding is a Brooklyn-based band blazing their own trail with a new music genre, "City-Country". Their songs reflect life in NYC - steeped in Bakersfield country, rock-n-roll, with a dash of swing. Trade your front porch for a fire escape, your trusty steed for the 7 train, Ol' Yeller for a yellow cab and well...you get the picture.

Dennis DelGaudio (Guitar/Vocals)
Guitarist Dennis DelGaudio began his musical career at the tender age of 13, and since then the versatile musician has performed everywhere from dive bars to Broadway to arenas. After years spent fronting his own band as well as guesting with the likes of the Turtles and Peter Noone, Dennis became the lead guitarist for the entire run of the Broadway smash hit Movin’ Out, as well as music director for the London production. He was part of Billy Joel’s historic Last Play at Shea concerts, and became a touring member of Billy Joel’s band soon thereafter. In addition to his extensive performing résumé, Dennis has worked as a composer for television and independent film. A native New Yorker with a virtuosic guitar style and Merle Haggard-inflected vocals, Dennis personifies “city country.”

Catherine Porter (Vocals)
A Native New Yorker, Catherine's career has taken her all over the globe as a backing vocalist, theater performer, singer song writer, rock chick, singing with well known artists such as Michael Crawford and Hugh Jackman to Brian May, Queen, Chaka Khan, Sam Moore and Kiki Dee to name a few. Being a City-Country girl of SHOTGUN WEDDING is definitely her happy place.

Wade Preston (Piano/Vocals)
Originally from Long Island, NY, Wade Preston spent many years in Los Angeles, during which time he firmly established himself as one of the area’s preeminent boogie pianists. Upon his return to New York, Wade joined the Broadway cast of Movin’ Out. Combining his dynamic piano playing with an exuberant vocal style, Wade played to sold-out houses from 2002-2005. Billy Joel was so impressed with these performances that in 2008 Wade was asked to stand in for him during the months of rehearsals needed for the Last Play at Shea concerts. In 2009, Wade performed at the PA Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C. for President Obama, Vice-President Biden, and PA Governor Rendell. Wade brings a touch of boogie and stride piano to Shotgun Wedding, reminding us that honky-tonk and boogie-woogie are, after all, kissin’ cousins.

Andy Cichon (Bass/Vocals)
Before his arrival in New York City, bassist Andy Cichon was well known throughout his native Australia for, among other credits, his association with the revered blues-rock band Rose Tattoo. He began his U.S. career by touring nationally with Five For Fighting, and eventually joined Shania Twain for both her Come On Over and Up world tours. From 1999-present, Andy is an integral member of both Billy Joel's and Shania Twain's bands, sharing the stage with the likes of Paul McCartney, Roger Daltrey, and Steven Tyler. Andy’s vocal contributions and rock-solid bass sound help Shotgun Wedding put the “roots” in “roots music.”

Chuck Burgi (Drums)
Chuck Burgi’s résumé reads like a “Who’s Who” of rock and pop music. After an early stint with guitarist Al DiMeola, Chuck teamed up with Hall and Oates for two platinum albums and two world tours. He recorded and toured with everyone from Michael Bolton to Diana Ross to Bon Jovi to Meat Loaf, then entered the world of Latin pop as the musical director for Enrique Iglesias. Chuck was the original drummer for the hit Broadway show Movin’ Out, and since its closing he has been touring the world drumming for Billy Joel. Trust Shotgun Wedding when we tell you that Chuck’s relentless groove is deeper than the Mississippi River.
