About Serotones, Matzah Cigar
If you feel like everything has been done before in the world of rock music, let The Serotones be the band to shock you out of complacency. Kevin Eiserman and April
Gabrielli’s lead vocals play off each other with sheer rock n’ roll gusto, and yet the
Long Island quintet's tight rhythms suggest that they cut their teeth in a jazz
conservatory. You can throw around terms like "alt-rock," but that simply does not
capture the nature of their crackling musical chemistry. The dual guitars, drums,
bass, and keyboards ebb and flow in just the right places, each element contributing
to a dynamic push-and-pull. The product of their instrumental chops and youthful
high energy is a sound that is as captivating as it is indescribable.
The Serotones display their prowess onstage with tight, passionate performances.
They’ve played festivals in the Northeast alongside the likes of Taking Back Sunday and
Circa Survive. The band captured this onstage energy in their self-titled debut EP, which
they released in November of 2014. Rick Koster of The Day gushed that “their self-titled
EP… is a ridiculously impressive, high energy, five-tune blast.” The EP was produced by
Mike Watts (As Tall As Lions, The Dear Hunter) and recorded at VuDu Studios on Long
Island. The Serotones is a statement by five young musicians, eager to show the world
what they can do with their genre-bending alternative rock sound. The EP is available
now on iTunes, Spotify and for physical order at www.theserotones.com!
The Mellowells are an alternative indie rock band formed at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania in the prime of 2013. Their sound is the result of not conforming to the competition of popular styles in larger cities; they have developed their unique sound with each other's influence, and to say that they only have a couple of influences is beyond flawed. Influences range from The Strokes and The Arctic Monkeys to Pavement, Wilco, and The Black Keys; The Beatles and The Beach Boys to The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin; Bob Dylan to Gram Parsons; Dr. Dog and Mac DeMarco to Cloud Nothings and Miniature Tigers. They are a little piece of something you may love put together by four dudes in their early 20's that you may also love.
They recorded their first ep "Author of Modern Thought" in the dusk of 2013, over the span of 12 hours. Once released in the fall of 2013, they immediately began writing new songs and pushing for new gigs in Philadelphia. By December of 2014, they had self-released their first debut album 'Shindy', available digitally where all mediocre-quality Mp3's are sold and physically through their band camp.
