About Sam Hammerman

Sam Hammerman is a singer/songwriter originally from Boston, MA. His music lives in the pop world, filled with beautiful melodies and catchy guitar hooks but with a depth and soul rare in that field. The lyrics are rich, the voice is smooth as a waterfall, and the chords are imaginative. One listener describes it as a “jewel in a world full of empty pop music.” His sound is largely shaped by the classic rock, soul and blues of the 60’s and 70’s, but also possesses a contemporary and forward-thinking sensibility.

After a stint at Berklee College of Music, he moved to Austin in fall 2008 to further pursue his career. After years of musical and personal evolution and refining his vision, he released his debut EP “Liberation” in 2012. It was recorded in a week with some of the best local musicians and produced by the award-winning Dwight Baker (Bob Schneider).

He returned to his roots and moved back to Boston in late 2013 and was active playing shows in the area solo and with his band, the “Sam Hammerman Collective”. He had a fruitful year and a half of shows, writing new songs, and building his audience and musical community.

In July 2015, Sam decided to follow his muse and take his talents to New York City, where he is now creating, collaborating and taking his vision the next level.
