About Roxana Amed & Martin Bejerano


Born in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, vocalist songwriter Roxana Amed is the strongest referent of Argentine vocal jazz.

She has released six albums, LIMBO (2004, EMI/SONY), ENTREMUNDOS (2006, S-MUSIC, SONY), LA VOZ MÁS ALLÁ (DVD, 2009, SONY) both produced with Grammy Award winner Pedro Aznar, CINEMATECA FINLANDESA, duo album with Grammy nominee Adrián Iaies (2010, ACQUA), INOCENCIA (2011, ACQUA), LA SOMBRA DE SU SOMBRA, duo album with pianist composer Frank Carlberg (2013, RED PIANO RECORDS), specially taking Argentine music, folk and rock, to jazz language and sound, and also paying tributes to argentine authors.

Her albums, that received Gardel Awards and nominations, include collaborations of the most important popular musicians from Argentina as Pedro Aznar (ex Pat Metheny Group) with whom she produced her first two albums and shared projects along the years; Adrián Iaies (three times Latin Grammy Awards nominated, Director of Buenos Aires International Jazz Festival) with whom she released a duo album in 2010; Guillermo Klein (Argentine composer and big band arranger located in NY) arranged some pieces for Amed's album Inocencia; and finally pianist composer Frank Carlberg (NY avant-garde jazz scene) with whom released LA SOMBRA... with Argentine poet Alejandra Pizarnik’s words and original music by Carlberg.

Member of The Recording Academy (Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards) and ASCAP, has signed a new contract with SONY MUSIC US Latin to release her full discography digitally. Amed is exclusive author for SONY/ATV Music Publishing.


A native of Miami, Florida, Bejerano is a graduate of the New World School of the Arts, Florida State University, and the University of Miami (M.M., Jazz Piano Performance).
After winning third place in the prestigious 1999 Great American Jazz Piano Competition, he moved to New York City and joined the quartet of legendary jazz drummer Roy Haynes. In 2004, their recording Fountain of Youth was nominated for a Grammy award for Best Instrumental Jazz Album.

In 2002, Martin Bejerano also joined guitarist Russell Malone’s quartet, and continues to tour and record with both groups.

He has performed with such jazz luminaries as the Christian McBride Band, Kenny Garrett, Roy Hargrove, Adam Nussbaum, James Moody, Jimmy Heath, Lonnie Plaxico Group and Marcus Printup at major jazz festivals, clubs and venues around the world. He has presented numerous clinics and toured with “Jazz Reach,” a non-profit organization that presents multimedia concerts for school children.

In 2007, his debut CD as a leader, Evolution/Revolution (Reservoir) rose to number nine on the Jazz Week Jazz Album Chart. He was recently awarded the New Jazz Works composer/ensemble grant from Chamber Music of America.

In 2013 he released a new album, Potential Energy, with great reviews.
Bejerano maintains a busy teaching studio at the Frost School, currently he heads de Jazz Piano department, and also performs, arranges, records and tours the U.S. and abroad.
