About Robbers, Hotel of the Laughing Tree, Time King
"A superlative example of how the youngest generation of up and coming musicians is perfecting a conglomerate sound that will transform rock genre musics in ways both familiar and engagingly odd. ROBBERS toss in a number of unusual factors, from strange spoken satirical rants to electronica to pop to folk, in a highly progressive mode impossible to nail down... a very wide cosmos of influences have resulted in a mega-smooth spacey sound that marries mainlined mellifluous vocals to vaulting arrangements layered in an encyclopedia of sound techniques...
... I can only hope that efforts like this quickly succeed and usher in a new day no one's quite expecting. In a sea of radio moribundity, this is badly needed, might even help spark a rebirth of what occurred in the 70s."

Hotel of the Laughing Tree are an indie-rock band hailing from Long Island, New York. Since their inception in 2008, the band have released an EP, Old Dominion, and two full lengths, Terror and Everything After, Mammoth Skin. Their latest full length album, New World Sundown is slated for a February 1st, 2015 release.
Shortly after recording ‘Old Dominion’, Hotel went on to win a 2009 MTVu Woodie Award for ‘Best Band on Campus’. Following that, the group signed to a local record label, and released 2011’s ‘Terror and Everything After’ into the world, which was met with high praise. Due to lineup changes and an overall jadedness towards their current situation, Hotel returned to a more DIY lifestyle, and parted amicably with their label. The group solidified a new lineup, built a recording studio, and created a set of new EPs (turned full length), Mammoth Skin. The band released the album to the public as a ‘pay what you want’ format in parts, one in 2012, and one in 2014. In 2015, the band will release their latest full length album, New World Sundown.
Time King is a 5-piece rock/prog/groove project operating out of Long Island, NY.
