About "Resonant Bodies Festival"

Sopranos Lucy Shelton, Dawn Upshaw & Tony Arnold Sing: "Resonant Bodies Festival"

Celebrate the opening night of the "Resonant Bodies Festival", an annual spotlight on new vocal music featuring the distinctive repertoire of some of the city's most exciting contemporary composers, with this concert at Merkin Concert Hall featuring a trio of gifted singers. Hailed by "The New York Times" as "a bold, powerful interpreter," soprano Tony Arnold is renowned for her insightful performances of the most daunting contemporary scores. She's joined by opera and concert singer Dawn Upshaw, the first vocal artist to win a MacArthur "Genius" grant for her role as an advocate for new music. And "new-music diva" ("The Boston Globe") Lucy Shelton will perform a set that includes works by Milton Babbitt and Elliott Carter, along with world premieres by Eric Nathan and more.
