About "Really Rosie"

Imaginations Run Wild in Maurice Sendak's "Really Rosie", With Music by Carole King

The whimsy of Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are" meets the genius of Carole King's "Tapestry" in "Really Rosie", a musical about a little girl with a big imagination. With book and lyrics by Sendak and music by King, this sweet, sad and wonderful tale follows a precocious city girl who's the undisputed leader of her gang of friends, the Nutshell Kids. One hot weekend, she dreams up a plan to cure her pals of their boredom. She'll direct and star in a movie based on her (make-believe) life. Rosie makes her pals audition for various roles ... and that's when the real drama begins. Theatergoers of all ages will fall for songs like "Pierre," "Alligators All Around" and "Chicken Soup with Rice" when this quirky play hits the New York City Center.
