About Raye Zaragoza Album Release Party


Raye Zaragoza is a Native-American(Pima/Akimel O'odham decent)/Mexican/Taiwanese singer-songwriter who was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. At the age of fourteen, she moved across the country to Los Angeles and has since continuously been on the move touring and sharing her music with people of all walks of life. She has performed in more than twenty states on the East and West Coasts as well as Mexico, Canada and France.

The Fox and King calls her, "your new favorite singer-songwriter" and "seasoned, technical, classic, and effortless all at the same time." The Deli compares her music to that of Norah Jones, and says "Raye's voice-and music, at large-has a unique elusiveness." Her debut EP entitled "Heroine" was recorded at Red Bull Studios in New York City with Chris Tabron (credits include Beyonc??, Robin Thicke, Mobb Deep, Vacationer, Natalia Kills...) and was released on May 11, 2015. The title single "Heroine" has received acclaim across the United States and in the United Kingdom.

Her most recent release is a song entitled "In The River: A Protest Song," and is dedicated the The Stand Rock Sioux, in solidarity against the Dakota Access Pipeline. The video for this song has received a half a million views on facebook, and has been shared over twenty thousand times. Raye's goal is to educate those who are unaware of what is happening in standing rock, and gain supporters around the world. The song has raised thousands of dollars for Standing Rock's supply fund, and has inspired people around the world to donate and support. "In The River" was featured on "Democracy Now!," received the 2017 Honesty Oscar for Best Song, and received a Global Music Award.

Raye is currently recording her debut album with grammy-nominated engineer, Justin Hergett. The album will be released in June 2017.
