About Radar Vs Wolf, Half Human, Bunkbed
Radar vs Wolf formed in 2009 around the talents of James Bratton and Tomás Gorrio (both on guitar and vocals). After releasing two EP's and touring for a couple of years the duo were brought together by a mutual friend with producer/drummer Mike Marsh (The Avett Brothers, Dashboard Confessional) and bassist Craig Schlesinger (The Remedy Session, Paper).
According to Mike, the first time the four met, "We all just hated each other immediately, so we decided it was time to do a full length record." HA! So the music business goes. The four recorded the first full-length Radar vs Wolf album in 2012, which was released July of 2013 -- self titled radarvswolf. Their second recording as a full band is set for release in mid 2015.
After the album release Craig joined James and Tomás on the road. The guys have toured steadily since using a rotating cast of drummers, and have focused their efforts on the South and East. Their travels have molded them into taco stand and bbq joint aficionados and authorities on truck stop candy selections. Their combined knowledge of minor van repair tactics and tricks could probably earn them certification from one of the finer automotive training centers in the country (sans the time a pit stop for gas in California nearly resulted in a crushed leg for Tomás). You can follow their travels on their Instagram page- we promise no photos of mangled limbs: http://instagram.com/radarvswolf
Since the release of radarvswolf, college radio stations have been steadily adding tracks to their rotations as they continue to log miles in their van. They have performed live on ABC's Talk of Alabama in Birmingham, and their songs have appeared on episodes of the web series Travel Tapes. The guys have also opened for national acts such as Matt Pond, Matrimony, Empires, and The Tontons.
In addition to music, James, Tomás, and Craig are passionate about a number of causes, which they actively try to raise awareness for while touring. "We're strongly in favor of empowering the individual above power concentrates. Ultimately, almost everybody wants the same thing in life -- to pursue their own goals and happiness in a peaceful, cooperative manner without outside interference. That's why we're proud to be involved with organizations like Students For Liberty, Students For Sensible Drug Policy, The Institute For Humane Studies, and The Foundation For Economic Education, all of which help promote individual liberty, free markets, and peace."
Half Human is a band from NYC that combines the unconventional structures and tense, angular energy of early post-punk with the thick textures and heavy rhythms of later noise rock.
Two beds, one on top of the other. Divided by a ladder.
