Prince Rupert's Drops, Hairy Sands, Luscious Skin

This Brooklyn-based group with a knack for suddenly showcases different instruments and styles plays rock music that keeps the audience dancing and guessing; one moment surprising with the arrival of a very forward sitar halfway through a song, and, in another, including an upbeat piano riff that paradoxically glides atop a dark, punk-influenced track.


Hairy Sands began six years ago in a small room across from Cooper Park in Brooklyn, NY with David Nolen and Clint Newsom (Rhythm of Black Lines). Meeting for a few days each year, songs were written quickly and layered till the point of collapse. Hairy Sands writes and performs with vocalist and keyboardist Danica Newell.
