About Popa Chubby

Popa Chubby: All-American Hendrix for July Fourth

There's likely to be plenty of fireworks coming from the Strat of modern blues legend and Bronx native Ted "Popa Chubby" Horowitz as the virtuoso guitarist and gritty vocalist plays cuts from his three-disc salute to Jimi Hendrix. "Electric Chubbyland", released in 2006, includes hits like "Voodoo Child," "Hey Joe," "Purple Haze," "Foxy Lady" and more. And though it doesn't appear in the collection, it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine Chubby reprising Hendrix's iconic Woodstock version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at B.B. King's on the Fourth of July.
